I'm with you. I celebrate "lessenings" - calendar days where daylight decreases in half-hour increments - up to October; it's better psychologically than waiting on the equinox. šŸ˜‚ (I used timeanddate.com under sunrise/sunset to calculate.) First Lessening for Philly is 7/24.

It truly is, and beyond July 4, summer doesn't have the "relief" of holidays that winter has. I find just having that much less of summer to look forward to makes it a little more bearable. (I also make a menace of myself on the solstice, declaring, "Now the days get SHORTER!" 😁)
