We are reduced, rhetorically and politically, to a class of people throwing tantrums who must be humored or ignored for the "real issues" based on how generous a cis interlocutor is feeling. Trans healthcare is not considered necessary, not regarded as part of a politics of bodily autonomy.
All the language about us effectively reinforces this idea that we exist on the good graces of cis society, which is alternately incensed by or amused at the pantomime they think our lives to be.
