My personal experience is that there are far more kind, fun, creative and compassionate people than jerk faces. It's not easy to remember every day but I believe it's true 🌺

I believe that’s true. I also believe a disproportionate number of jerk faces are currently holding power in high positions and that we lack the collective ability to put them in their place if they continue to hold power.

Based on voting, 30% of the people are jerks, 30% are kind and compassion, and 40% don’t think voting is worth the effort. That 40% includes people too overwhelmed by their lives too make time to vote and those too self centered to care. They probably don’t present as jerks.

The hard truth is, some folks aren’t voting because life is just too much. And others? They’re just coasting, thinking it’s someone else’s problem. And like you said, they don’t look like jerks… but their inaction can speak volumes.

Yes. The people who say ‘I don’t really pay attention to politics’ and ‘the news is so depressing’ are the ones I am the angriest at. The cult is brainwashed - they are like addicts but not to drugs and alcohol, but to superiority and hate. I see how people with kids and 3 jobs don’t have bandwidth.

And then there's also people that are like... there's an election? Them not knowing also frustrates us when we just can't remind them on the day of the election. It's gotta be done well beforehand. Then there's also those that tried to vote or voted provisionally, yet sadly their vote didn't count.

The fact is we are all kind, fun, compassionate, etc AND we are all jerk faces. The Trump voter who wants concentration camps, also volunteers at the local church or helps sick kids. That's the great tragedy. Rarely does anyone realize that they are the villain in these cases. They put blinders on.

I’ve met some of the kindest, most genuine souls just through my kid. Being a parent kind of pulls you into circles where compassion and creativity thrive. And hey… I’m still holding out hope that one of those kind hearted,slightly sassy types might just cross paths with me when I least expect it. 😉
