I miss the days when Google search... Worked.. I don't even bother searching for tech related issues now as I know the results will be total bullshit and be landing pages for a spam sites or just plain wrong

I use a library for source material or go to a University in my area. Google search results are skewed to who can pay for page 1 results, decades of garbage SEO practices, and GIGO AI powered search results. AI isn't powerful enough to shift through all the garbage.

Basic food stuff, like checking classic ingredients in a dish, has become so absolutely awash with garbage that I only search for anything like that with “NYTimes” or a food mag like “saveur magazine” as the last term. It’s astounding.

I don't"google" anything anymore. I use duckduckgo... sure, its not perfect but Google is no longer honorable in its use of information. I hate ads... so, so much. And you're giving away your personal info to google when you use it. They feed on you and then shit on you... with ads.
