The definition of intellectual dishonesty was on display this morning in the @smerconish.bsky.social opening monologue. The host believes violence against Telsa should be prosecuted as hate crimes. Fair enough, anyone who firebombs a vehicle, or menaces a Tesla owner should be held accountable.
I think I stopped listening to his plush toy republicanism awhile ago.
Great expression. I only saw it today because I was on a Planet Fitness treadmill with CNN and closed captioning on the monitor. It sure got my heart rate up!

But nowhere in Smerconish's clearly partisan monologue was even a mention of WHY some fringe protestors are turning to violence. Musk and his minions have taken and ruined lives these past four weeks and degraded the Constitution to tissue paper. NOT ONE WORD ABOUT THAT.
But, boy, Smerconish had plenty to say about a late night audience enjoying a takedown of Musk which included footage of burning Teslas. So offensive. Yet, no offense taken to the hundreds of thousands of federal workers and life saving programs that were kicked to the curb with no proper scrutiny.
Like I said, intellectual dishonesty. It's how we got here with no clear way out. CNN continues to give a platform to people like Smerconish who have no interest in telling the full story. Rather, they just want to stoke moral outrage. Lots of words, no solutions. The Jim Jordan of journalists.
