Worth noting Tesla sales are tanking not just because the owner is unbearable and a bit off kilter, but because the cars are also, well, just not that good. The fact is that they’re ugly, outdated, and just about as exciting as a cordless kettle. The market knows best.

It was all a grift. At this point, it’s a meme stock. The market doesn’t believe him, but they still make them a lot of money. I knew FSD was a fantasy when Elon claimed he would never embrace LIDAR due to its cost, even though other designers think it’s crucial to autonomous vehicles.
And the Chinese alternatives are much, much cheaper. It was OK when companies were getting huge tax breaks to buy their big cheeses Porsche Taycans and Teslas, now real people are buying, as well as companies finding out about the horrendous depreciation on those £100k cars...

Actually the cars are quite good. I have a 2023 M3. Elon is lost in the funhouse of ketamine, or something. In the US theres no competition at the price. Rivian and Chevrolet, eventually Ford have or will bring competitively priced cars, so we'll see in a couple years.

I rented one the other day...first time driving one. Acceleration was good; learning curve was longer than I'd like when driving one; couldn't find the emergency release when I looked; worrisome wheel wobble when hitting bumps while turning; turning at speed is not well designed
was in norway and got to experience the chinese ev market. cheaper and better than tesla.
Lots around me too, however, ya can’t get away from the fact that they’re deeply hideous and maybe their sales tanking couldn’t happen to a better chap.
The stock market doesn’t. They were always *wildly* over-valued when European manufacturers like BMW, MB and VAG were going to devote time and investment to making a similar product. They could never maintain a technological advantage that justified the stock price.
