There are 70 types of dementia. Some have that, some don't. My mother never had trouble speaking. In fact, she had an imaginary husband and spoke for him, too! She had vascular dementia.

This will sound odd, but I’m happy for her and her loved ones. It is very hard losing a parent. All we can hope for is that they seem content. I hope she was reasonably so.

She was locked down in a memory care facility during Covid, and I couldn't see her face to face for almost a year. When she died, the nurses told me "You know, she handled the lockdown better than anyone her, because her imaginary husband was always with her." We were indeed grateful.
