I hope this isn’t an unpopular opinion but if it’s one or the other between Marc Guehi and Joe Gomez, I’d keep Joe Gomez 100 times out of 100. When he’s fit he’s still an elite level CB and his versatility is invaluable. #LFC

Yeah that’s the thing - although I’m not keen on Guehi, he’s more likely to be fit when called upon. Love Gomez but his fitness record can’t be relied on sadly. I’d still rather he stay as a defender who (when fit) can play anywhere needed.

Gomez circa 2020 yes, but Gomez now; no chance. Joe is so unlucky with injuries. Guehi is calm, very good on the ball and has leadership qualities. My preference would be for us to keep Joe to cover at full back, as when fit he still has a lot to offer.

The "when he's fit" part is the problem here. Love the guy, but he's just not reliably available for half the season.
