Totally agree. Turkey play in UEFA, so most of their games they have to face the likes of Germany, Italy, Spain, England, Portugal, Netherlands, and on and on. USA racks up fifa points against Curaçao, Belize, Grenada, Guadeloupe and the like (no offense to those lovely countries).

Turkey pressed, double teamed and basically knew what the USMNT was going to do before they did it. They had great positional awareness and were rarely under pressure from a passive slow moving opponent. Agree with your comment about ranking.
