New Packers CEO Ed Policy should roll up rocking Gucci slippers and a Hugh Hefner-style red velvet smoking jacket to the next owners' meeting. He's earned it after landing Micah Parsons from Jerry Jones and Dallas. http://dlvr.it/TMm7LK

Ed Policy did not make this trade, Brian Gutekunst did.

But he still should show up to the owners meeting doing that, for sure.

He had to sign off on it though

No, he didn't.

A trade like this doesn’t happen without approval from the top. The GM is the one who engineers it and leadership has to sign off

Brian Gutekunst is the top, and has full control of football operations. Just like Ted Thompson and Ron Wolf before him. That's the great thing about how the Packers operate. The President doesn't mess with football operations, unlike dumb billionaire owners.

Policy would certainly have been in the know, but Gutekunst is the decision maker in these circumstances.

I get that part, I’m just saying, a big move like that, leadership has to sign off. In this case, it’s just rubber stamping

You don't get it though, because Brian Gutekunst does not require sign-off to make football decisions. The leadership structure in Green Bay has fully empowered the GM in that area for over 3 decades. All of this information is easily accessible.

If you're suggesting mark murphy had no say in personnel decisions, I've got some crypto to sell ya.

I'm not suggesting it, I'm telling you that's a fact that has been publicly stated many times.

"Has complete control of the roster" seems pretty clear cut to me. I get that Policy is his boss, but he doesn't need approval to do what's within his established authority.

This is well documented information people, not earth shattering. Most teams operate as you describe, the Packers just don't 🤷‍♂️

Was that AI? My link to an actual site says something different. To say the ceo has nothing to do with personnel decisions appears far-fetched.

How do you not know about Ron Wolf famously demanding full control of football operations to take the GM position in Green Bay? This structure was passed to Ted Thompson and now to Brian Gutekunst. Mark Murphy has stated publicly many times he gave full control of football operations to Gutey.
