And honestly I wish we could just take the W here instead of seeing everyone immediately qualify their support. Like yes, he’s calling out the fascist dickhead and standing up for his state. That’s great, let’s celebrate that, let’s encourage it.

We can celebrate it while still being critical of our leaders. I feel like that's part of what we're fighting for here. If we don't hold our leaders accountable,which is what we're doing, hell, it's what Newsom is doing, what are we even doing?

Again, I commend his current actions, and I'll cheer him on. He's certainly doing more than a lot of our elected officials are doing. But seeing his decisions play out the last 6 years, he's gotta do a lot more to convince me that his actions are more than just political posturing.

The simplest prism for how I view this is how I respond to feedback. Now is a time for positive reinforcement, in my opinion, rather than criticizing past behavior. I wish we didn’t have to incentivize these people further to do their jobs but clearly we do.
