I feel like people have not realized that we are in a new era of nihilistic terrorism. It sounds like religious fundamentalism or racism or antisemitism or misogyny or xenophobia. But these are all just vehicles for nihilism. Fascism is appealing because it offers a meaning to the nihilism in itself

Like this is cry for help against nihilism. Gen Z men who voted for Trump see having children as the #1 definition of success. Above even being married. Like, where are the children supposed to come from? They are just so desperate to be handed *something* they believe will give themselves meaning.

A lot of the manosphere resentment is essentially that women are refusing to provide them with what they believe will stave off their existential nihilism by transcending their own meaninglessness via production of offspring

Nihilistic terrorism ladders all the way up. This is the destruction of major international investment in US manufacturing just to get to terrorize a few hundred people -- ruination for nothing. It might not be engravings on bullet casings, but it's a shot that's being heard round the world.
