Some had, most hadn't. I know a lot of people had a channer phase & for queer people that's self abuse with extra steps. But like being trans doesn't make anyone less likely to have unexamined bigoted assumptions Buttttt Treating someone's phase as a judgement on a collective is just basic bigotry
Like there's a small contingent of transmasc people who had terf beliefs too. Imo The important questions are: Has the person changed their behaviour? Apologised? Taken responsibility for their actions? Not tried to minimise or pressure people into forgiveness?
Those seem more Important. If the person really did a lot of damage then stepping out of the public eye would matter too
This is misunderstanding the point of the above. This is not about an individual's behavior. A trope is widely used to cast trans women as a *uniquely reactionary* demographic. We are not. It's a bigoted smear that was made up out of a whole cloth and then, dangerously, became more widely accepted.
Tbh I'm hesitant to consider any demographic uniquely something - unless that demographic is united around an affinity group. Trans people in general are diverse re age, race etc so any attempt to cast parts of a community, like here trans women as one thing is always gonna be far from reality
We can just say "this bigoted smear is false and bad, reject it" without needing to analyze it to death. In fact it's actively bad to indulge it and act like there's some legit concern here. This isn't abstract. It's part of why trans women get lied about and kicked out of housing/spaces/support.

Also saying that the group that is trans women is far too diverse to accuse all of having had a nazi past without looking like a proper fucking dipshit seems critical. Hoped that it's obvious how cherrypicking 2,3 people to paint as a true representative of likely ~500k people is being bigoted.
