Agree it's still the right hand side that doesn't feel right. Though guessand or malen would provide more direct /wide threat than mcginn you'd think. But we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that this is basically the squad that beat PSG and Newcastle scoring 7 goals in the process.
You write the names down and we have a wealth of cracking players. It’s really the mix more than anything that doesn’t feel quite right atm so we are relying on Unai more than ever this season I think to come up with those clever tactical plans to overcome those deficiencies.
My fundamental issue/concern is that the squad is worse than last season and we already weren’t great for big chunks of last season. I know why that’s the case but I have absolutely zero confidence that we can even stand still this year, which could have some significant consequences.
I'm undecided. The squad compared to that which went on a great run is basically guessand for Ramsey, and no rashford but + game time for Malen. I agree we're placing a lot of emphasis on unknowns like guessand + malen, Rogers and Watkins and I have long suspected Rogers may drop off this yr
Across last season and this summer this is the player swing: Players we don’t have (assuming Asensio happens) - Duran - Carlos - Disasi - Ramsey - Rashford - Bailey - Olsen - Philogene Players we have - Guessand - Asensio - Malen - Bizot - Garcia - (Buendia) Not by much but we’re lacking a bit.
The whole right side of defence is currently on a knife edge and our left side of attack looks empty unless Rogers goes back there (wish he would - that was his most effective position for us).
True. I don't think we can list Duran AND rashford tho as they were an exchange already Do think we're a bit weaker but it shouldn't be all doom and gloom
Put it this way….big change coming next season no matter what the outcome/ finish this year….we should all be focused on every aspect of how the club is doing…but don’t forget to enjoy what could be the last go around with the group that got us back to the PL and the group that came in right after
