I keep saying it. We had plenty of tedious games with lots of very safe passing under Unai. But scored first. We're now conceding first. Results massively colour perception.

Yup, defensive possession with a few players like Cash & Bailey who are/were suited to a more up & down style. Sides don't take the press bait so we maybe need to embrace that. Still, if today is Lammens & Sancho we go in with a better, more Emery squad than last year for me.

The problem is we started out being defensively strong. Then in season 2 we had massive attacking threat. Last season we had spells when balance was wrong but then better. But atm it's worst of both worlds

Yup, actually felt the approach was more aggressive to start off last night. I liked it & it felt like a couple of bounces going our way here and then would have changed the result. If we continue like that I think it will pay off.
