Trump clearly has no interest in saving lives. He's backing Putin, because he sees some advantage for the US or him personally. Putin specialises in crooked elections, not just in Russia but throughout the former Soviet bloc. So he wants a puppet to replace Zelensky in Ukraine. Trump is on the case.

Just shows it is possible for the media to call this out in straightforward language. The BBC and other news organisations seem to value access above accuracy, so they moderate their language (credit to AP for their Gulf of Mexico stance)

They go beyond just moderating language. Their whole house style is about minimisation. For instance most outlets go with straightforward TRUMP CALLS ZELENSKY DICTATOR where the Beeb has TRUMP CALLS ZELENSKY ‘DICTATOR’ (or similar). I don’t get it; it’s not like Zelensky is going to sue for libel.
