That looks wonderful.
That looks wonderful.
Yummy
Are you ALLOWED bacon on a Monday?
Aw stop - you have me thinking about a bacon buttie now mmm
What cut of bacon? What sauce?
Yes please! 🤤
Make an extra one! I’m on my way! Homemade sourdough! Woo hoo
Bread looks like cardboard, hope it eats better than it looks.
I can't imagine looking at someone's post about their excitement to eat a bacon sandwich from bread they made, and first of all have a negative response but then second of all feel the need to share your negativity with them. Who hurt you?
What an AH comment
Yum 😋
For a split second I thought that was a clove of garlic in the second photo before my brain clicked into gear and realised it was just butter. Now I'm wondering how garlic would work in a bacon sandwich.
Nothing in the world like a bacon and tomato sandwich... growing tomatoes is the only thing I miss about having a yard, after moving to the city
I hope there’s a little tasty snack for the beautiful Sophie ❤️😊
[Nods in french] "Ah, omelette du pain..."
Is that French toast?
Haha, no, that was a joke. What you refer to is "Pain Perdu" ("Lost Bread" -> French Toast) which is bread slices dipped in a mix of eggs, milk and sugar so as to recycle old/dry bread into a sweet snack.
Interesting. In the movie A Good Year, the secret but extraordinary wine made by the estate is Le Coin Perdu. I make Pain Perdu by cutting the bread into cubes. No sugar tho.
"Le coin perdu" means "The lost corner" (which can be said of secluded places). Well, cooking is a free art, so no sugar is okay. By making little cubes, you seem to be making a cross-over of Pain Perdu and Croûtons.
Croûtons : salty, olive-oil and garlic pan-frieds dices of bread to be served on soup. Diced French Toast would do well with ice cream...
(Dipped then pan-fried* until golden)
Dripping with maple syrup...
Mmmm sweet, sweet diabete... [gulps the entire maple syrup bottle]
I use unsweetened applesauce warmed with pasture butter. Not diabetic, hypoglycemic. My granddaughters love maple syrup. I wonder if the orangutan's tariffs will squirrel the little jug at Costco?
That's making me very hungry. Apple-buttery french toast sounds like quite the treat ! I want that with ice-cream, pretty please...
👀😋
That also sounds quite yummy...
*rubbing it in* We have our own mini-syrup operation...5 gal so far this season, more to come...
[Cursed Gollum face when confronted to The Ring] MINE !
LOL
Needs more bacon. 🥓
And where is Sophie’s slice of bacon? 😉
Looks good bacon. Mmmm
Oh yum I hope you enjoyed it. :D
Bacon! Yummy 😋
I intend to start baking sourdough when I retire. Any tips for a starter? 😁
Sourdough starter, that is! Baking I know! ☺️

I need to make a sourdough starter and start making my own more often
I approve of this message.
Looks good!
Beautiful loaf!
I do love a bacon sandwich but on dry bread.
A thick layer of chunky peanut butter with ripe banana is also nice.
Sadly, bacon, ham, pork, lamb, beef, chicken, turkey, eggs & cheese are some of the worst things to eat if you believe in a clean, healthy, compassionate world where everyone has enough to eat & pandemics are held at bay.. Enjoy your bacon sandwich though.
Ah yes, nothing like shitting on someone’s post of something they’re proud of and about to enjoy to make people want to support your agenda.
Given all the known problems with meat & dairy, how can a bacon sandwich be something to be proud of??
You’re why people hate vegans. You can be proud of that.
Maybe you hate the meat industry and hate to hear the truth?
Nope, just pushy AH who have to shit on others and insert their agenda wherever they possibly can. Honestly you’re right up there with fundamentalist christians.
So you like the meat industry then? I refer you to my original post.
I dislike AH who insert their agenda where they’re not wanted. At this point you’re almost worse than the Jesus freaks. At least they stop when they’re told they’re not wanted somewhere
It was you who opened up the conversation with me, while you're very much not wanted I don't see you stopping any time soon.
It was you who stuck a shitty, agenda fueled comment under the post of a person showing a homemade dinner they were proud of making.
Lovely👏👏
Bacon needs white bread, and ketchup. And a fried egg.
This has shades of a 'pineapple on pizza' discussion...
Not so. An Hawaiian is delicious.
I agree 100%. I only meant to imply that it's a controversial discussion...clearly I did not succeed 😂🤷🏼♀️
Looks delicious, I had a piece of sourdough toast.
Now.. je meurs de faim..
Mon 'feed' me fais ça régulièrement...
Yum!
want
Needs more bacon 🥓
Nice! I made homemade bread a year ago followed an online recipe and everything, the bread was not only delicious it actually tasted even better with melted butter it was like something straight outta LOTR or The Hobbit!
Show-off.
please sourdough bread is my comfort character i do not consent to her being shipped with such a toxic person ://
A bacon sandwich would, without doubt, be my last meal if I was on death row. It's unbeatable. Did Sophie enjoy any of it too?
Nice!
You’re such an ‘animal lover’ Rory.

You just made me add bacon to my shopping list. You should be ashamed of yourself.
I want that
Avec jus au tomato?
Any idea how many people you triggered into a bacon lettuce and tomato sandwich for breakfast this morning? 😁
👍🏻
You don’t get much better than that
Nothing finer in life than a bacon sandwich.
Ahhh but did you hand raise and slaughter the pig and cure the bacon and home churn the cream to make the butter and produce the electricity on a home generator or turbine?
My daughter gave me some sour dough starter she had for years. I’m still a novice, but hooked on making bread. This loaf lasted 15 minutes, olive oil / balsamic for dipping.
Ooh that looks delicious
Send one to me??
I do love sourdough
After seeing The Prof’s sourdough loaves,on X,I took up bread making. Got all the books, all the kit, nearly gave my starter names - loaves working out to about £25 each :) But strangely satisfying.Pls pass my thanks to The Prof for a new hobby that is almost as frustrating as my teenage kids were :)
Went down this same rabbit hole at about the start of 2008. Gotta say, however, that even allowing for the lapse of time and inflation, £25 per loaf sounds a bit OTT.
Editorial licence :)
Ummmm, I’m the baker, the prof’s the customer! And were you putting gold leaf on your loaves to get to £25 apiece?!
Oops, I blame my misconception of who is who on my age. A sorry excuse but all I’ve got to offer :) Cost of loaves roughly estimated from Investment versus Number of loaves made/edible. Still trying though!
I do approve of a good sourdough sandwhich.
One piece of bacon? That's just flavored bread.
That is a very nice sandwich.
Cannot be beat.
My Dad and I ate tomato sandwiches. The bright red juicy balls were fresh out of our garden. He also fried green tomatoes.
I'm in America now, so my bacon sandwiches have never been the same, but ah the simple pleasures.
Looks good! Not a fan of sourdough though. Recently made a sandwich of mini pepperoni, shredded cheddar, and some oregano. Toasted the pepperoni and cheese in the convection oven while on the bread. So good.
That looks amazing!
