Lovely session at Goncalo’s secure field with #sophiefromromania and the charming Ella and Finn - new acquaintances. Sophie was much less growly than when on the lead but Ella, a very friendly dog, was slightly wary of her at first. But after 45 minutes they were racing around with great excitement
We took a group of lurchers to a secure dog field near us in SCambs. They did one mad zoomie, then they all lay down in the sun and slept 🤷♀️

A dog on a lead especially a fearful dog can feel more threatened but dogs learn from other dogs so it’s great to see her a while later playing with Ella with not a care in the world .This is a brilliant place for Sophie to learn to be more dog 🐶
NEWS: Miss S Coyle Cellan-Jones, socialite, said when interviewed, “moi met deux lovely chiens aujourd’hui et moi had beaucoup de fun. Ella is particulièrement bon at le chasey chasey which moi super enjoyed, Finn is un peu more reserved, moi understands that some chiens, not moi, are like that.”
Great to see Sophie running free & having fun - she has come so far well done to all Team Sophie. I imagine either an afternoon nap required or an early night tonight after all that exercise.

My dog does the bark & nudge sometimes when she wants to be chased, often starts with a play bow, the nudge/ bark is often because other dogs doesn’t chase first time 😂.
Lovely to see this progress❤️. I’m guessing Ella & Finn are play-tested and playdates are supported by a trainer/behaviourist, and of course @sociabledog.bsky.social? Our Rommie lass is also reactive. We can’t always predict which dogs she’ll take against. We persist with counter conditioning but 🤷♀️

IME many dogs are more growly when on a lead because it limits their ability to run away, respond to the possibility of another dog threatening them.
Yes exactly. All my rescues have been more comfortable w/other dogs when able to move about freely.
