I’d like to congratulate President Trump on defeating Colbert the Gray. I’d like to send my sympathies to President Trump for what Colbert the White is about to do to him. Stephen Colbert is literally going to live out his Gandalf fantasy. Republicans have no idea what they’ve just done. None.

AMERICA-we WILL be cheering when, after the 2026 elections the g.o.p. trash is largely just a memory and FLOTUS will be impeached, tried, and convicted of his crimes-treason being the worst. We have the power over craporations, oligarchs, and idiot pols. We need to use that power.

I sincerely hope you’re wrong about this. If he does, they will cancel sooner, and Colbert’s 200 person staff will pay the real price.
Don't think for a millisecond that Colbert would be responsible for the loss of 200 jobs. That's squarely on the higher-ups at CBS. Jobs working on "The Late Show" as it was are already gone. The question now is will the new temp jobs those people have be expressions of art or not?

We'll see. This isn't a normal layoff situation. I suspect the soul searching was before he wrote the monologue where he called it a "big, fat bribe." Those are the Lady Macbeth moments, when you wonder about the peers and people above you. Once you're alone, the calculus changes.
