First of all, he did not win. He cheated. No way he could get 7 swing states Grand Slam with only 1.7% pop vote lead. Last time was Reagan with > 30% lead. Rural states are losing their way of life because agriculture productivity progress means less people are needed. So, school and hospital disappear. They are close knit communities where everybody votes the same (they actually used to be all democrats (and racist) after the civil war).
