I like the idea of a strike but it does raise ethical concerns for some professions. Healthcare workers for example, and I’m a social worker working in mental health and ethically speaking I don’t think my agency could shut down for a day let alone potentially days, weeks.
not healthcare. transportation, garbage pickup, is how they seem to do it in Europe.
That makes sense. I think pairing it with no spending too during the same time seems like it would make the most bang for your buck so to speak? Stocking up beforehand on food and paper goods, gas, medicine et cetera.
You sell your country down the drain on ethics. Do you think Trump & his billionaire mates have 'ethics'? I can't believe the level of stupidity exhibited every day by people. And my careers were Military, Police, & then 30 yrs front line Paramedic, so I know all about ethics & commitment.

I never said U don't have ethics mate, & I never said spoke 4 U. I said R U willing to sell your country out on the basis of ethics, because Trump, GOP, & MAGA have no ethics. I ask a question, & posed a view. Perhaps things might get better if more people saw the actual facts in front of them
The person who originally replied to me helped me to understand better. Healthcare workers, social workers- essentially anyone in a profession that involves saving lives/keeping people alive wouldn’t be expected to strike because that would breach the ethics of certain people-centric professions.
I think perhaps there has been a miscommunication. No- Trump and his goons don’t have morals or ethics. You do, I do, plenty others do. My original statement in this thread was questioning the ethics of a general strike and who would participate in said strike (1/2)
Many years ago, in the 70's The ambulance service in the UK, after months of being screwed by Govt, finally had to strike. Completely. They said we wouldn't do it, we did. It lasted 2 days during which time the army tried to cope & failed. The result was a decent deal. Sometimes it takes extremes.
