Russia rejected today the idea of European peacekeeping troops serving in Ukraine, contradicting claims earlier this year by U.S. President Donald Trump that Vladimir Putin would accept such a force as part of a peace deal.

Running Russia as deep into the economical ground as possible is by far the best outcome anyway. Ceasefires or truces are bad in that context. May they never ever rise again, only splinter.

The purpose of peacekeeping troops would be to deter Russia from another attack on the free part of Ukraine. Who could be seriously surprised that Russia doesn't want that??? The decision to allow the stationing of foreign troops in Ukraine is made in Kyiv - nowhere else!

Russia started the war when it invaded Ukraine twice in 2014. Ukraine was actively pursuing economic independence from Russia via EU membership in 2014. Did you really expect Russia to admit they are just a bunch of murdering imperialist thieves? It was never about NATO.
