The European Commission's move to recognize US car standards — buried in the fine print of the EU-US trade deal — has sent the industry into a tizzy. But EU politics mean a radical change in how European cars are regulated is unlikely.

@vonderleyen.ec.europa.eu is selling out the EU as she only cares about the German car industry.
This is some funny shit, right here. Can you imagine trying to find a parking place anywhere in Europe? 😂
Driving 40 kilometers out of town to the parking lot of a giant supermarket just to park your overgrown calf. That's the American way.
Seems to be a ''great'' idea. Traffic-related death rate: United States: 14.2 Europe: 6.7 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...
Insanity. Unsafe oversized American cars should not be allowed on European roads.
If you're going to take a foreign pickup truck for European roads/off-road, it's better to get a japanese Isuzu or Toyota.
Poorly built, oversized gas-guzzler anyone?
This might be a smart give-away for the EU in trade negotiations. Anyone who has driven a car in Europe knows that US style vehicles don't fit on roads or in parking spaces. Anyone who knows Europeans knows that it's unlikely that many US trucks would sell in Europe anyway.
They should allow these things into Europe. Would make all of our lives easier as it would be a failsafe way to identify if someone is an absolute dickhead.
Also, since Europeans are in general quite content with the size of our genitalia, there's very little demand for compensatory gestures like these things. They might sell some to supporters of far-right causes, I suppose.
Utterly useless for European roads. The pick-ups already sold here can barely fit into a parking space (and often take up two)
