Love Chicago, can get a good dinner, see a play, see a drive by shooting, and then get back and play the fun game, "what did they leave in our hotel room". That's like going to Mexico but can drink the water.
Aww. I mean, I’m out in the suburbs, but I do kinda like it when they *do* feature our big city. Now, if you set something in, like, DeKalb…🤔
MUCH LOVE TO CHICAGO but what of the majesty of the fields??
*infinite corn* My cousins lived out in Geneva and we’d visit them every few weeks when I was growing up. I feel like I got a lot of driving practice in heading out through the miles and miles of fields and farms.
As someone who lives in Chicago and spent four years downstate, even though I know there’s no way you meant it this way this feels like the only explanation is a dog whistle
Representation is powerful. When I tell peeps I live in Illinois but NOT Chicago though:
"I'm from the other 93% of the state"
Me, too!! Sweet home, Chicago.
I'll take what crumbs i can get, including but not limited to getting hype when there's a Decatur mention
I take it back, I can't stay mad at The Fugitive
The Fugitive might be my favourite movie of all time. Mostly just for that shot of Joe Pantoliano taking a steel beam right to the face.
It is a great movie!!
It's my St. Patrick's Day movie
Iconic, genius, all time movie line and line read
I'll give a pass to the Fugitive and Ferris Bueller.
Holy shit is this your first time seeing The Fugitive
Nah I just forget it's set in Chicago every time
that's hilarious because it's the MOST chicago movie
The St Patty's Day parade 😭
"if they can dye this river green today why can't they dye it blue the other 364 days a year?" 😭
There's a fight scene on the L! It doesn't get more Chicago than that
a whole scene where they recognize the sound of an elevated train! the cops' chicagan accents in the interrogation scene! the roof fight at the hilton!
That's like half way through the movie! The first half is in the majestic wilds of Illinois aka Jenna country!
My favorite movie for this is Blankman! He literally drives on the rails of the CTA trains
(should also add as a longtime cornfed indiana resident that the majestic wilds of illinois are also a perfect place to spend half the movie!)
well but you still have all the establishing shots and city scenes in the very beginning! and the cityscape fireworks at the very end of the credits! they are like THIS IS A CHICAGO MOVIE!
You're RIGHT actually it might be,,,, the MOST Chicago movie of all time??
You inspired me to look up Illinois movies and I am excited to share that there is a treasure-hunting crime movie set in East St. Louis starring Ice T AND Ice Cube
When will someone set a movie in the great city of Normal, IL, where I briefly attended band camp in the 2000s
I feel this as a person in the Greater Pittsburgh Area but who also is aware of all the middle bits of Ohio, New York/Jersey/Hampshire/England.
BB gets a pass for being one of the best movies of all time
Suddenly remembering The Informant!
