Why can’t they just steal Like Texas?
They have enacted a law against what Texas is doing. The CA law does give the legislature and governor the option to put changes up for a vote. There are no such laws in Texas. It’s good that CA is putting this to a vote. It cuts against claims that CA is like TX. It’s not.

Changing California's map to merely counter the five-seat attack on Democracy in Texas, is a huge mistake. Democrats everywhere should be pulling out ALL the stops and playing to win, not to maintain the current status quo. They can worry about fairness after we excise the cancer that is the GOP.

What I read today is this is still a fair enough map to keep the VRA in tact at a federal level. It neuters Texas’ move without giving a green light to every single GOP held state.
Why only five seats? It is a jab in response to a haymaker.

We cannot out organize a 1-sided, legally rigged system. This isn't the time to risk losses which this election does. We need find ways to re-district like R's do (b/c there's always a loophole for each state) and go scorched-earth on MAGA. We can go back to normalcy after fascism is dead.
