Lots of classics, but... McAlmont and Butler surely counts as well known! It even got the "how we made" article in the Guardian a couple of months back.

I absolutely loved Fluke. And this album: the sheer balls of the team behind it to produce a mostly Britpop/Britrock album, not give it a title, and then include The Shamen's utterly weird single Destination Eschaton *and list them on the front cover*, is truly remarkable even almost 30 years on.
