Coronavirus as a family - spike proteins are placed 25 nm apart. Abs made either through infection or vaccine - are effective at inducing Long Lasting Plasma cells - which are a holy grail for sustained immunity- if the spike proteins were like 5 to 10 nm apart - like with other RNA Viruses.

So we cannot induced protection against these viruses. All we are getting is short lasting plasma cells which last for ~4 months.
