So loud, so...molting bird looking. I love them. I think my favorite thing is when they follow a parent around and, even after fully feathered so looking otherwise mostly mature, do the 'MY MOUTH IS OPEN PUT FOOD IN IT' thing with the little wing flutter. Even when the food is right at their feet.
It's priceless!
When I was doing animal rescue, baby (pre-fledgling) Stellars were one of the most common intakes. We'd feed them a blended mix of cat food soaked overnight and meat based Gerber's baby food in a 1ml syringe until they'd stop demanding. Flighted juvies liked to land on your head to get food first.
