Being pardoned should bar the person from any future federal or government position. They can get out of jail or out of judicial issues, but it should not erase prior ethical issues. This would also bar Congress members from requesting a pardon and continuing to serve.

Hunter Biden paid fines and penalties related to his tax violations. His federal form filing is a nothing burger. Hunter was working Of Counsel at a major law firm when he represented foreign businesses. Wasn't arranging extractions from US soil. Wasn't planning an insurrection.
