Why would anybody go to the US knowing there is no due process. You can be kidnapped and disappeared at any time.
As someone who works in academia, I hate to acknowledge that he's correct, but he is. I am processing applications for International students all while saying a little prayer for their safety.

I don’t blame them. I’m only travelling there if my employer forces me and even then I may refuse and take my punishment under a normal legal system
