I called Cassidy‘s office, my local reps & other key reps suggesting an interim plan to quickly get vaccines to appropriate pts who want them & bypass overly limited restrictions. 1) revert to 2024 eligibility guidelines for C19 vax 2) allow “off-label” C19 vax by Rx w/o penalties & liability.

According to my state's board of health the CDC has not officially issued any restricted eligibility requirements yet. Every hospital, clinic and pharmacy is in complete limbo.

They are essentially unavailable in sixteen states right now, even if you are eligible. A complicated, incompetent mess because in those states, there are TWO gatekeepers. The FDA says it's safe and effective, but it's the ACIP that says "who should get it." Those states only let pharmacies dispense
ACIP-recommended vaccines. Traditionally, the ACIP recommendations came out at the same time as the FDA's, but this time the ACIP hasn't met, won't be meeting for at least three weeks, and CVS and Walgreen's believe they are not allowed to dispense them without a prescription, maybe not at all.
Are they not literally available now? I was about to book an appointment at CVS last night, but I wasn't 100% sure it was the new formulation.

I wanted to get a booster last Thursday, the pharmacy did not have any as “they were waiting for the new booster coming in September”.
I got a booster a few weeks ago. I knew damn well this was going to happen.

We'll see further acceleration toward the US being one nation with two countries. Some states will create, promote, and support their own recs and others will follow the feds, not just on COVID but on vaccines generally. We'll see it in the health data in the future.

I've heard just ask your doctor for a prescription and they will give you the shot, no arguing over what bmi they think you are or having to reveal HIPPA private information to a private pharmacy to get it. I am guessing even acute care will be writing these scripts.
