On SM a few years ago there was a quiz about why does NZ eat ice cream year round, while in North America it's only a summer time thing. The reason was our mild winters which means it's relatively ok to have one then.

Haha yeah. Same in the Netherlands. It’s a summer thing. Ice cream shops close shop over winter. Especially when it’s below 10 degrees.
