Worst situation: agreeing to send troops to support and not sending them. Every NATO member state upon Art. 5 has to decide if and how they will assist (and you can refuse or “only send money”, or in case of US “thoughts and prayers”). The US is a wildcard and Europeans are not ready as of now.

They are not sending troops. This isn’t the article I was thinking about, but they are claiming support as they remove it. Nobody in the West is ready for this. www.msn.com/en-us/news/p...

So far, the only country that ever claimed an Art. 5 case was the US. Nobody knows what will happen if a European NATO is being attacked and claims Art. 5. We will know one day. Reg. Ukraine (NOT a NATO member) the US under DT already stated, they will not send troops. But that’s not NATO Art. 5.

Baltics? They are in NATO. I’m just back from Lithuania and had several chats with American soldiers stationed there. Didn’t seem like they’re leaving. And the country itself is ready to fight. Their suppression by Soviets is not that long ago. There’s Ukrainian flags everywhere in support.

Hungary on the other hand is appeasing to Russia. Orban travels to Russia frequently and blocks EU measures every step of the way. Totally different story.

I’m not explaining myself well. To my original point: the news I have seen shows the US withdrawing support regardless of what Trump says & likely without foreknowledge by the troops themselves. Counting on them is folly. Russia has already declared war. At some point Europe will need to respond.

The blocking of EU measures was the other part of my point.
