The problem is that's only how it goes in the beginning. Then the insurgency stuff starts. And that is when it *really* gets ugly.

This. Everyone on the "you really think you can take on the government with your AR-15" rant demonstrates they really don't grasp what dynamics would actually be at play. Likely multiple sides involved in a hall of mirrors of unending reprisals, more "Friday the 13th" than "Saving Private Ryan".
