It is for sure at certain ages! I remember this feeling and experience when my kids were younger But now, for contrast (for whatever it might be worth)— right now my kids are away with my wife's parents for a week, and we are REVELING in our child-free week

Absolutely. Mourning the loss of who they used to be that you never got to say goodbye to while falling in love with who they are now is that eternal bittersweet cycle. It’s the greatest and saddest. I’m kinda over changing diapers though. And I miss sleep a bunch. But chunky baby thighs.
