so the food my thesis was on is also a scottish dish and there is SO much scottish lore on it, and oats!

I have mentioned I studied in Scotland for a year haven’t I? University of Aberdeen? Nigh on 25-26 years ago. My junior year of college.
INTRIGUED. Running through my mental catalog, which is admittedly a wee bit shy of a full cauldron. Guessing NOT haggis… … nor fried Mars bar… … certainly plenty of fried everything… … Scotch eggs of course…
ok but pizza crunch
Ah ha ha ha, they deep fry everything why NOT pizza? I swear, let the Scots have a go at the Minnesota State Fair and they’d run everyone else out of business in a flash. Pizza crunch looks PERFECT to go with an Irn Bru or three after a particularly wild night at a ceilidh.
i can confirm that it does 😂
FabTAStic!
I'm trying to figure out what dish it could be but my historical knowledge of our food is admittedly pretty negligible.
sowans!
Curious to learn more about sowans, what makes it special, etc.
Just watched a video, sowans sounds cool! Yay to fermented foods good for the guts!
Interestingly I don't recognise it but reading up on it it feels incredibly typical of Scottish food 🤣
