The 2Am is about well-regulated militias, such as the National Guard, not some guys in the neighborhood -- and it was written when the US did not want a standing army at all. Republicans own most of the guns. They are on the Order side of the political continuum, which ends in fascism.

No, it is a “right of the people.” Trump’s use of the National Guard shows exactly why your interpretation would offer no protection against a tyrannical government (which is what the people who wrote it were worried about).
