In order to get my passport I need a Real ID (some new type of ID congress assholes voted for before I was even old enough to vote apparently?). To get a Real ID I need my birth certificate. To get my birth certificate I need to send a money order to Nebraska. To get a money order you have to -

bureaucratic paperwork is stupid. I remember when I moved to Texas and had to get a Texas drivers license with an expired out of state license. It was such a Catch-22 with the paperwork I had to provide to get other paperwork.

We recently had to get our RealIDs (which was set for in 2003 by Bush Jr.) to travel from NY to Seattle. It was a PROCESS for us, for various reasons. Be careful with that Vital Statistics site. It can take months and months.
