He did several times. You literally can't argue with people like this and he has limited time in the interview. At one point you gotta move on when you realize all hope is lost because Trump has zero grip on reality.

I agree. I thought he did a good job of standing up to the lies, and even when he moved on, he didn't placate Rump. We know that because Rump isn't satisfied-- if he doesn't get a full, submissive "yes," he hasn't won yet. Rump was furious AND REMAINED SO. I call that a big win.

He tried to placate him with half-truths like "could be interpreted that way" and "contestable" and "let's just move on" as Trump stood his ground.

True, but it was obviously an effort to agree to disagree so another topic could be brought up... and Rump wouldn't have it because he knew the guy didn't give in. He had not said yes yet. Rump was digging in for that yes, and he never got it. And it infuriated him.
