My biggest problem with getting with the other side is mainstream conservatism seems to have really leaned hard into the "culture war". I can disagree with someone on tax policy or the role of government and still be friends with them, but I can't see a situation where I'd ever want to be 1/
arm-in-arm with someone who say, doesn't think trans people should exist or have rights. There's a lot of gray here obviously but to me personally if you're not fully for EVERYONE'S rights to exist and be treated equitably, I'd rather get chummy with a garbage can full of rabid raccoons.

Dan doesn't care about the culture wars/ is on the left side and is winning, stayed almost silent when we almost had WW3, the President was senile, was silent on Russiagate. But now that Trump is going around the constitution because he knows the civil service would block him, he is pissed!

There's going to need to be more "I see your point" then "I see your point, but.." to fix anything.
I could see a "coalition of the middle" as being one solution to at least pull up.
Conservative defectors are definitely one of the easiest ways to stop this madness. It’s just going to have to be ones actually in elected office rather than the ones we have now. If any one of them summons the dignity to stop licking the MAGA boot this becomes a more manageable situation.
