Absolutely agree. It's a dereliction of duty. Obviously I have a news background and we would have covered the hell out of this in 1990. The media is a different animal now. (It was always "if it bleeds it leads", but now it's like "if there's no blood there's no story"). Just awful.
Was a child in the 90’s but can say since 2010 when I started to 2018 when I stopped, a peaceful protest meant get a handful of images, gauge if it could go violent then leave. If the outlet wants a story later they just credit to some kid for their social photos and do an interview. So it goes
