At least at present, I consider it unthinkable that the kind of dismantling of democracy we are seeing in the US, and the accompanying phenomena, could also be possible here.

Things like open intimidation of judges, media, politicians, universities; the massive ideological pressure, brutal deportation of immigrants, the open self-enrichment of the president, who is clearly a malicious narcissist. These things differ significantly from the issues we are dealing here.

But you should never say never; the example of the US shows how quickly a democracy that is considered secure can be put in danger. And if that should happen in Germany, I hope that we will find a way to successfully defend ourselves against it. I wish the same for the US.
