Theres' a reason why they do it. Sprinkle the word "allege" with anything and anything exists in a quantum state of true/false, basically plausible deniability if anything is wrong. Thus, prone to abuse. Its a similar deal with "verbal agreements" for sport team transfers. Plausible deniability.

Equivalence of basically saying bullshit about anything and getting away with it just down to fucking technicalities. Post-truth on steroids. Truth and scientific fact doesn't exist anymore.
