Why are none of these reporters bringing up the fact that crime will obviously go down if people are scared to leave their homes? No one can be robbed if no one is on the streets. It’s unconscionable to frame this as a positive outcome.

Business is way down as well.
Indeed
Martha is surprised that street crime goes down in a police state.
She seems particularly unprepared to be conducting interviews in this moment in time
I think this was a softball question that any of us could have answered better than Wes Moore. @retiredwhitelady.bsky.social had the exact right answer (street crime goes down in a police state), I am shocked and disappointed that Governer Moore did not make that exact point.
I guess it was too obvious. He’s also not the only one who didn’t point this out. Pritzker missed it too in his interview
We have very little functioning media left. They've abandoned not only what they learned in J school, but basic common sense. Crime plummeted in 2020 as people stayed home too, a lesson clearly lost on them.
Yes, I was thinking about that too. The lesson they’re taking away is people should stop participating in society, as though that’s some kind of win
It's all maddening (as I know you know :)
💯
