I don't think Hank has the capacity to support two families, so imo it's more about Hank insulting Walt's self-perception as a provider for his family. Which is especially ironic, as the first thing Hank ever does in good faith to help and support him is the one Walt takes the most offense to

Walter is absolutely the villain / anti-hero of the whole thing and by the end that's not subtle at all.
