Well... I was pretty proficient in fire modelling in WFDSS. But the new version doesn't include the short and near term models I need. Yet. So I was forced to swap to FARSITE and IFTDSS. Both do some really fun stuff, and I actually like them better. But... they want zipped shapefiles.

And.... ArcMap wants to use a geodatabase these days. So... QGIS might be the better way to come up with that zipped shapefile. Especially when connectivity is rough. And here we are on a Friday night.
