still negotiations taking place on those. CUSMA compliant goods is what he took tariffs off to match what he’s been able to get consensus on from the Americans. Which is 85 percent of goods traded with US. Now they continue negotiate on auto etc.

When he said he was matching the US tariffs, he didn't differentiate between them. He could increase our tariffs on steel etc to match the US, then bargain to get them removed on both sides. I don't think we've gotten anything from all our concessions.

Part of the support for Canadian steel and aluminum is that govt. contracts need to buy from Canada. Steel and aluminum were never going to be equal, they are too intertwined and it hurts Canadian businesses who have to buy back products from the US made from Canadian steel and aluminum

CUSMA is dead, it will never be renegotiated because Trump likes tariffs. He is a divide and conquer man and will not deal with both Mexico and Canada because then he cannot play one against the other. The best we can hope for is a low tariff rate.

47 imposed tariffs across the board but the US trade court overturned it on May 28, so the US dropped tariffs on CUSMA compliant goods shortly after. Canada didn't until now.

It might be inaccurate to say that he misled voters - in policymaking you can go in fully intending to implement one policy and when circumstances change it becomes clear what's in the best interests of your constituents is to shift to a new policy.

The USA refuses to meet the regulatory standards of our 🇨🇦 eggs or dairy. It's really their issue, not ours. The companies want more profit I guess so they never even meet the minimum imports. They have eggs down there you have to cook all the way through or risk getting sick.
