During Trump’s first administration in Portland, Oregon during the demonstrations, that were mostly peaceful until the fed showed up. Goons were jumping out of rental vans and ride gear and grabbing people off the street when there were away from the crowds. Basically disappearing them.

Turns out they were just driving them across the bridge and dropping them off in another part of town. They had no identification they didn’t identify themselves. They just grab people put hoods on them and basically scared the shit out of them. These are not good people in leadership.

Have a throw away phone for travel. Don't take the phone you actually use, or get another phone number and swap out your card, but use the same unit.
Sound advice. They have warned Canadians that you have to give them passwords for all your devices if you bring them across. Just buy a new one when you get there. That would slow things right down at the border - well there is no traffic anymore anyway - so they have time to be oppressive.
If you have an iPhone… backup to iCloud… reset your phone to default settings to cross. Then just restore from backup once you get across border! The restore will put your phone back exactly like it is now.
So, when they start going through everyone's cloud storage....
I always travel with my secondary account device that does not have my main apps etc on it. When I get through customs/security screening, I reset it and restore from my main account. I also keep any social accounts in a locked off & hidden area of the phone, which can only be accessed by me.
You should never keep any physical documents on your phone either, always using them from a cloud. This way you can protect these from prying eyes. Samsung Knox security system is perfect for securing apps and data from the likes of ICE
