The Exodus is not historical nor written by Moses but it should be noted the story states they wandered for 40 years as punishment for disobeying God, not because it took them that long to cross into Israel.

I submit it's based on something. Likely the after effects of Santorini going kablooie about 1400 BCE. There is indeed no proof Moses existed outside the Bible, that I am aware of.
And Christians have had centuries to defend the book and it's still hotly debated today. They are very good at defending it. It says creation of man was 7-10 thousand years ago. scientific perspectives, suggest that modern humans (Homo sapiens) have existed for around 200,000 to 300,000 years.
The Bible doesn't state exactly when humans (and anything else)were created. And there are 2 creation accounts smashed together in any case....
There are diagrams available that show the biblical timeline from Adam and Eve's creation to the time of Jesus Christ. The genealogy from Adam and Eve to Jesus is in the gospels of Matthew (Matthew 1:1-17) and Luke (Luke 3:23-38).
If those genealogies are provable, which they aren't. Some of the men in those genealogies, yes.
Even Science fiction writers will refer to real people and real occurrences to make their stories believable. History is written by those that bothered to write it. And the end is always a win for those that wrote it. I'm just saying, they dated man's beginning. So did archeology. Not the same.
Adam and Eve is deep myth. It's true on a whole other level. The Bible and other religious texts may include real history (eg Hezekiah's tunnel. It's there, I've walked through it). But religious texts are doing more than recounting history.
