Trump claims this is about crime and beautification. Terms that don’t fly with DC residents who made it their mission to document the streets of DC and how it hardly looks like what Trump called “slums”. Crime is also at a 30 year low in DC right now.
So let’s take a look at the crime ridden slum that is DC, as Trump put it, from the perspective of DC residents.
I note an absence of tourists....
I literally felt safer walking around in the wee hours of the morning when I lived in DC than I did when I moved back to my 10,000 person rural hometown in Oregon. What a joke.
Most things seem empty now. It's like it isn't fun being out and about in a dictatorship... because it isn't.
To be fair the capital building is pretty dangerous. I remember a group of thugs attacked the place a few years back. I hope they did something about those guys!
It’s the pigeons dammit! Those crime riddled pigeon gangs, I tell you. Their pigeon farts cause cancer. Gotta get those pigeons. 😂
Aaron Parnas takes a walk around and says it’s business as usual in DC. If Trump is deploying the guard DC doesn’t see it yet. Though things have been ramped up at night, the day is as if Trump is on a nothingburger brigade of distraction. There are always protests, so we’ll see later how that goes.
Trump has been planning to use the guard against protesters. DC waits to see if he means it.
Unfortunately, regardless of whether Trump is serious about militarization of DC, his attacks on the homeless and youth have caused DC police to ramp up against their presence in some sort of please and silence the fuhrer bs. Damage from his rhetoric now making some of DC targets for no reason.
Precisely. Distraction from the #EPSTEINfiles Demand the Treasury Dept. complies with Sen. Wyden's request: To reach a Legislative Affairs representative, call 202-622-1900 Email: LegAffairs@treasury.gov A person answers, not a recording. Say it's about the #EPSTEIN investigation. #Resist
I’m not Catholic so no.
That pigeon held me up at gunpoint
Aaaah! A pigeon 😰
Arrest it!
Oh, the humanity! Flee! Flee to Illinois for refuge!
